COmmunity Wellness program

program Summary

We appreciate our partnership with the Four Seasons Early Years Program, Headstart, School District #68, and ELEV Program (VIU). Thi K’wasun is a program for youth, hosted by Snaw-naw-as First Nation designed to increase the capacity of our youth by promoting youth to find their voice, self-exploration and culture. We hope to inspire our youth to learn hul’qumi’num, our culture, and explore our traditional forests and beaches.

Our summer Youth Camp operates at the Youth Building during the summer. Light breakfasts and lunches are prepared and served by our youth. We appreciate the support from Loaves and Fishes (Foodbank), School District #68, and other sponsors.

Our cultural activities include: making drum sticks, making drums, making regalia, weaving, knitting, cooking and beading. We have been learning to count and name animals in Hul'qumi'num and practicing drumming, singing and dancing.

We appreciate Four Seasons Program, who partner hosting: Youth Soccer Camps, Girls Power group, Honoring of Grandmothers/Grandfathers (Men’s/Co-ed Group), Xu’Athun Tsatsup Parenting Group and our Cultural Mentor.

Thi K’wasun is intended to be a constructive and inclusive environment for our youth to socialize and get to know our Snaw-naw-as family. Parents and Grandparents are welcome and encouraged to come visit, have a coffee or a bowl of soup with us.

Knowledge sharing

All of our cultural teaching sessions are provided with generous contributions from programs, Elders, and community members. If you are willing to share in some way with Thi K’wasun Youth, please contact Kristen Bob by phone or email below.
